Welcome to the NotionGate Wiki
NotionGate is a Windows utility that runs silently in your system tray, building a bridge between your local file system and your Notion workspace.
It solves one key problem: Notion cannot link directly to local files (for example, C:\\Documents\\MyProject.pdf).
The Problem
Until now, you had to either upload files directly to Notion (consuming storage and creating duplicates) or use file:// links, which are often blocked by browsers and unclickable in the Notion desktop app.
The Solution
NotionGate creates clickable http://localhost links for your files. When you click one in Notion, NotionGate intercepts the request and opens the local file with your default program.
It also acts as a watchdog: it monitors configured folders and automatically adds links for new files directly to your Notion pages.
